{ the golden summer }

Saturday, June 25th, 2011

I’ve been calling this summer “the golden summer” because I think it’s going to be the year that we check every last thing off of our summer to-do list.  I think this summer holds some wonderful things for us.

Today, Funnel & I visited Young’s Dairy in Yellow Springs and Funnel took a picture of me with one of the goats I was feeding.  When I got home, I decided to look through all our old photos, because I was pretty sure that every time we’ve ever visited Young’s, Funnel has taken a picture [...]

{ wildflowers & summertime }

Monday, May 30th, 2011

summertime: wildflowers. long walks in the evening.  100 speed film. bare feet.  festivals.  corn from roadside stands. open windows. al fresco dinners. lemonade. the smell of sunscreen. wedding invitations.  frisbee golfing. fresh-plucked tomatoes.  freckles & lemon juice in my hair.  kebabs. adventures.

{ wish }

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

I make wishes whenever I can.  On stars and birthday candles and at 11:11.  But my favorite is to wish on a dandelion.

 ((photos taken last summer with my Holga 120N))
I am sitting at my desk, looking at the white scene outside my window.  That’s the only place I really like to enjoy winter from - a window, with a mug of hot-something warming my hands.  For the most part, I really do hate wintertime - scraping ice off my windshield in [...]

zach & sara.

Monday, November 24th, 2008

Over the weekend, I did my first ever engagement session… in the freezing cold!  Sara and Zach went to Otterbein with me and they are getting married next May.  They have great chemistry and are so in love and I think it shows in the photos.  We went to Inniswood Gardens for their session, and I’m [...]

meet me by the water.

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

meet me by the water, underneath the big beehive.

bring your record player and your raincoats, 45s.

we can dance together as the river washes by.

to wash away the cities that somebody else designed.

dance with me

beneath the circuitry.

stay awake til daybreak calls us back into our rooms

and morning always comes too soon.

frederick family portraits.

Friday, October 17th, 2008

A couple of weeks ago, the lovely & talented Amber Walsh (who photographed our wedding) did our family portraits out at Dan & Debbie’s house.  I got to see about half of them, and I should have the rest of them this weekend.  I’ll post some more then!
Funnel’s cousin was married on this bridge:
