{ garage sale treasures }

Saturday, June 18th, 2011

Today, I went garage sale-ing around Pataskala with my dear friend Meghan, followed with lunch at The Nutcracker.  I had so much fun with her and we both came away with some treasures!  Here’s what I bought:
Vintage 7-up box/tray ($1.00):

Box of Old Stamps ($1.00):

Vintage Souvenir Canada glass ($1.00):

Wilton Cookie Press ($2.00):

I hope I can go out garage [...]

{ o, christmas tree! }

Thursday, December 2nd, 2010

Last night, Funnel and I braved this winter’s first snowfall and went to pick out a Christmas tree.  This was a big deal for me, because we’ve never had a real Christmas tree before! We found a Douglas fir we liked, a couple of guys strapped it to our car and off we went!   [...]

{ summer project: sewing nook }

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

I am so excited about one of my summer projects:
fixing up my sewing nook.
Right off of our kitchen is a large closet that was originally supposed to hold our washer and dryer.  But when we bought the house, Funnel and I decided that the noise and mess of a tiny laundry room spilling into the kitchen wasn’t such a [...]

{ house } As you can see from the polaroid in my last post, Funnel and I are in our new house!
We closed on our house May 20th and moved in on May 30th.  During the days in between were long, 14-hour days of working on the house.  I took the week off of work, and Funnel [...]

{ sentimental }

Friday, May 15th, 2009

Our apartment is becoming kind of empty and sad looking.  Pictures have been removed from the walls, some of our things are packed, boxes are stacked in our living room.
I was just reflecting on the two and a half years that Funnel and I have spent in this little apartment on John Steven Way.  I came here [...]

{ monkey neighbors }

Saturday, April 18th, 2009

Funnel & I have discovered that three of our future neighbors are monkeys.  Literally.
Last time we visited the house, we heard these strange “whooping” noises coming from across the street.  We concluded that our neighbors had pet birds.
Today, when we went to look at the house with my parents, we heard the noises again,  much louder [...]

{ home }

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

 After two weeks of waiting, the house is ours.

It won’t officially be ours until the endish of May, but for all intents and purposes ((and assuming we can jump through all the hoops that await us)) it is.
We should be living in our little house, in our little neighborhood, in Pataskala, Ohio in just over a [...]

{ open bidding: dissapointment & hope }

Tuesday, April 7th, 2009

Our realtor, Alice, finally got an update on the house from the bank last night.
There was so much interest in the house, that the bank has decided switch to an open bidding system.  They’ll collect all offers until 5:00 today, and the highest bidder gets the house.  So we need to put in a new, higher bid.
We thought [...]

Confession:  I LOVE Pottery Barn Kids.
And no, this isn’t baby fever talking.  I am not day dreaming about a baby’s nursery, or a little girl’s room.  I want to buy stuff from there for me!
I was on someone’s blog and they had bought a pretty cool lamp from there, so I decided to check it out.  [...]
