{ weekend sewing }

Sunday, January 22nd, 2012

I had nothing on the agenda for this weekend, except for staying home and being domestic and it was the best weekend ever.  I’m such a homebody, so I am more than happy to just stay in all weekend.  I started several sewing projects (which I worked on while watching episodes of “Road to Avonlea” [...]

{ the week in pictures }

A few photos from my week….
I made this little Christmas tree garland with some scrap green and red fabric I had and a spool of red and white baker’s twine that I bought on etsy:

Funnel bought this goomba hat with his Gamestop Power-up Reward points.  I think it’s so cute.  Maybe I’ll be a goomba [...]

{ sewing project: dresden plate }

Friday, May 27th, 2011

I’ve loved the The Dresden Plate/Circle  design ever since I saw my friend Jen sewing one while ago.  It was a really popular quilt design in the 1920’s and 1930’s and I think it’s so fun and pretty.

I have too many half-finished quilts right now to start a [...]

{ sewing project: cathedral pillow }

Wednesday, May 18th, 2011

I’ve been working on this little cathedral pillow for a few weeks and it’s finally finished!

I used this tutorial from Warmth in the North to make the pillow.  Cathedral quilts involve a lot of folding & ironing (it’s basically origami with fabric) and a lot of hand-sewing, so it was a time-consuming (but fun) project. [...]

{ wisp }

Saturday, April 30th, 2011

Early today, I met up with my parents for lunch in the little town of Granville. We found a new, really cute little yarn shop called “Wisp” owned by a British lady.  I loved the muted tones of all the yarn she had there.  It was a really lovely little store and made me want [...]

{ wee wonderfuls }

Thursday, March 31st, 2011

One of my favorite crafty blogs is “Wee Wonderfuls.”  Everything Hillary Lang makes is absolutely darling and she also has a store where you can buy her adorable little doll and embroidery patterns.  Here are a few that I love:

I finally broked down and bought a pattern for these precious little bunnies… they melted my heart with their [...]

{ o, christmas tree! }

Thursday, December 2nd, 2010

Last night, Funnel and I braved this winter’s first snowfall and went to pick out a Christmas tree.  This was a big deal for me, because we’ve never had a real Christmas tree before! We found a Douglas fir we liked, a couple of guys strapped it to our car and off we went!   [...]

{ new goodies on etsy }

I’m selling some of my talented Mama’s latest creations: purses made from Amy Butler’s “Birdie Sling” pattern.
Mom & I both currently carry a “Birdie Sling” bag, and it’s my favorite purse of all time.  It is so roomy… I can carry my huge camera, planner, bible, journal, and a hoodie in it.

Check out our etsy store to [...]
