After visiting the creepy Catacombs, Funnel and I had a late lunch on a cafe terrace (under some big heaters – thank goodness!)
I had a nicoise salad:

Funnel had a clazone that was bigger than his plate:

And we split a plate of french fries:

Then we headed to where we knew we could get the best view [...]

Day three of Paris was not only special because we were in PARIS, but also because it was Funnel’s 28th birthday.  We started the day with him opening some of his presents in bed:

Then, we had a quick breakfast in our hotel lobby (croissants with jam, yogurt and coffee) and headed to the Catacombs, the [...]

{ paris: notre dame & photo shoot }

Monday, June 14th, 2010

After spending our morning of day two exploring Montmartre, Funnel & I took the metro to the other side of Paris – to see the Notre Dame.

I feel a little funny saying this, but I was much more impressed by the outside of the church than the inside.   When my mom and I went on a [...]

{ paris: montmartre }

Sunday, June 13th, 2010

On day two of Paris, we awoke with a bit more energy.  To Montmartre we go!

Montmartre is in Paris’ 18th arrondissement, and the highest area of the city.  It’s best known for it’s Basilica of Sacre Coeur, the white church at the top of the hill:

I’ve been putting off re-capping our trip to Europe.  Part of it is busyness.  Part of it is still trying to mentally process our trip.  Part of it is knowing I will fall terribly short in trying to describe everything we saw, ate, did.  But I can’t not share it.  So here goes.
Our first glimpse [...]

{ columbus arts festival }

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

On Friday, Funnel and I went on a date to our local wing joint and then downtown to the Columbus Arts Festival.  The Arts Festival is one of the things I look forward to most each summer.  Artists from all over the country come, and you can stroll around with a glass of wine or [...]

{ tuesday night cupcakes }

Tuesday, June 8th, 2010

I never got into cupcaking because I didn’t have a cute way to decorate them.  But then my mom, grandma and I went to an  Amish grocery store and I bought a little plastic decorating set for $4.99.  And I’m starting to feel adventurous.

{ white chicken enchiladas }

Monday, June 7th, 2010

I am always on the lookout for a good dinner recipe that I can add to our rotation.  I try a lot of recipes, but there are very few that I like well enough to make a second time.  One that I found and really love is The Pioneer Woman’s White Chicken Enchiladas. SO good and not too [...]

{ summer project: sewing nook }

Thursday, June 3rd, 2010

I am so excited about one of my summer projects:
fixing up my sewing nook.
Right off of our kitchen is a large closet that was originally supposed to hold our washer and dryer.  But when we bought the house, Funnel and I decided that the noise and mess of a tiny laundry room spilling into the kitchen wasn’t such a [...]
