{ i’m about to make you drool }
Last night was the Taste of the Independents. It’s an event that features cuisine from over 40 independently owned and operated restaurants in Columbus, and it benefits the non-profit that I work for, The Buckeye Ranch. It was the most delicious food that I’ve had in a long time (probably since last year’s event)! They had everything from “Braised Local Bacon with Spring Radish on Cucumber” to “Mango Pana Cotta with Coconut Foam”.
For the sake of space, I will just share with you some of the desserts (I was in the mood for sweets last night, so I tried every one!)

Pistachio Macaroons, from Pistachia Vera.

Raspberry Macaroons, from Pistachia Vera.
Parfait of Walnut Cake with Buttercream Espresso, from Alana’s.
Chocolate Truffles, from Deepwood.
Creme Brulee, from Handke’s Cuisine.
Butterscotch Pana Cotta, from Z Cucina Ristorante & Bar.
I love our city at night, too.

I’m going to “Taste of Addison” tomorrow night, and you have me drooling in anticipation, which is the best kind of way to drool.

mmm. I don’t think I’ve ever had a macaroon. I don’t think I really know what they are either…
