in a field.

Kurt Halsey.  “When I knew we would last forever.”

When I saw this limited edition print on Kurt Hasley’s website, I was sad that it was sold out because this reminds me so much of a particular night in Cedarville with Funnel.  A fall night, following the sounds of moo-ing through the streets, and jumping a fence to visit with some cows, before realizing there could be bulls and getting freaked out.  I loved all of our little adventures.

I have been thinking a lot about Cedarville and our pre-married days and I almost feel homesick for some of our old places.  I hope we can go back sometime this fall.  I could go for a wheat pizza at HaHa Pizza, a milkshake and round of putt-putt at Young’s, a movie in the uncomfortable chairs at The Little Art theatre, a walk through the gorge.  Even just the drive there will bring back memories of the best mix-CDs in the world, and the quiet happiness and hope I carried around inside of me on those long drives to see my favorite person.

The guy in this picture seems to be looking out for the girl, making sure she gets over the fence okay. I wonder if that was intentional.

My best friend makes me the best mix CDs in the world. I should probably marry her.
