a mad & faithful telling.

Another week, another weekend.  I posted yesterday about third-party candidates, but I had to delete it because for some reason it was messing up the formatting of my website.  Sorry. I guess you will never know how I feel about voting for presidential candidates who will not win.

It has been a long week with not enough sleep and too much time spent in front of a glowing laptop on a bright blue recliner in my living room.  Funnel has been away since Monday.  I never feel right when he is gone.  I don’t like to sleep in our bed when he is not there so I sleep in a little mattress in the computer room or on our couch.  I wear his sweatshirts.  I drove down to Portsmouth to see him Wednesday, spur of the moment.  It reminded me of times we did that in college, where the driving time was double or triple the time we actually got to spend together.  It was nice, and much needed, at least for me.  On the way there and the way back I was ministered to by Delilah and her sappy love songs and stories.  It’s the stories I like, not really the Michelle Branch and Michael Bolton.  I wonder which song she would play for me if I told her my story.  Ann told me about novel, The Time Traveler’s Wife and I finished it Wednesday and now I am reading it again.  Every once in awhile, I read a story that is so well-written that I actually become the characters in my head and that happened with this book, and now I feel like I have fallen in love all over again and my heart has been broken.

and we laugh, and laugh, and nothing can ever be sad, no one can be lost, or dead, or far away; right now we are here, and nothing can mar our perfection, or steal the joy of this perfect moment.

I did see your politics post and I’m voting 3rd party. Just thought I’d let you know.

Ha, I have some of your “he’s not here behaviors” and we’re not married– sad, huh? Ah, well, as I type this I’m wearing his sweatpants. So nice that you got to go see him :)

Two of your faithful commenters, Kerri and Sarah, have both read and enjoyed /The Time-Traveler’s Wife/. And similar to you, once I finished it, I started it all over again.

I also got Robby to start reading that book. On a long car ride with our friends, he read it out loud while I drove, but when it got to the inappropriate parts I tried to make him stop. He pretended not to hear me.

I actually have that book (the time travelers wife) and have yet to read it. I am glad to hear that it was so wonderful!
