erik & lindsay.
Erik and Lindsay found me by way of a flyer that my friend Brandon put up in a Gahanna coffee shop, advertising our photography & videography services. They are are a really cool couple, and when we met, they told me they wanted to support young people following their dreams, so they decided to go with me. I was so excited and encouraged by their confidence in my abilities!
The wedding was so beautiful. They got married under a weeping willow tree in their back yard and the evening ended with a reception under a tent lit with chinese lanterns. It was one of the prettiest settings for a wedding that I’ve ever seen.
I want to share my appreciation for:
- my husband who shot the wedding with me after working a 65-hour week, and he had worked all morning and afternoon prior to the wedding! I am so lucky to have him! He is a great photographer too. Half of the photos I am posting here are ones he took!
- our awesome friend JD for letting us borrow his sweet new Sony camera and lenses! It was so much fun to use, and we were spoiled getting to shoot with it!

Well, the pictures are amazing, but what else is new? ho hum
I was wondering…when you want people to pose a certain way, and direct them, do you feel bossy? How do you get over that polite timidity and just tell ‘em what you want ‘em to do?

Ali – Thanks fo much for your comment and encouragement! I really appreciate it!
Sarah – Thank so much! Yeah, I totally feel bossy when I am directing people. I feel awkward sometimes. The posed formal photos are the hardest ones for me to do. I usually just try to give them a little direction, like “put your arms around each other” and they’ll do it however feels comfotable or natural to them. Erik and Lindsay wanted a very limited amount of formal photos, and wanted Funnel and I to mainly to candid/photojournalistic stuff, which is my favorite to do.

Hi Jen! I just wanted to tell you that you are an amazing photographer. I went to Otterbein too and found you through a mutual friend. Actually you will probably not remember me, but you were my orientation leader when I was a freshman, and you were in my contemporary religious thought class with Dr. Laughlin. I would love to be a photographer, but contrary to what other people say, I do not think I am that great. Also I have a lot of problems photographing people. Anyway congratulations for being a wonderful photographer!

Hey Kerri!
I do remember you! You were in orientation the year that I was partnered with Kourtney, right? Thanks so much for your comment!
If you like photography, you should definitely pursue it. More than anything, it just takes a lot of practice and a lot of reading up on how to do things. I have problems photographing people too… its definitely the toughest for me, but over time it gets easier.
Anyway, thanks again for your sweet comment!
