this blog.
Lately, I have been evaluating what exactly I would like this blog/website to be. Such a wide variety of my family and friends read it, and I know there are people who read it that I don’t even know. This can be kind of awkward sometimes and I tend to censor myself or not even post things that I would have, maybe a few years back during my xanga and livejournal days.
Funnel is sitting next to me on the couch as I’m writing this, and he just leaned over and said, “You don’t even post most of this stuff do you? You type it out to get the words out and then decide whether or not you want to post it.”
Anyway, I was thinking that most of the blogs I am subscribed to in my googlereader focus on a specific topic. I read photoblogs, cooking blogs, home decor blogs, blogs on the topic of adoption, or Christianity or whatever, but obviously my blog lacks any kind of focus.
I don’t know if I should turn this into strictly a photo blog, or hone in on one subject that really interests me ((but might bore everyone else)) to blog about.
Will think about this some more.
Funnel and I went to the Ikea store (cheap, Swedish furniture) in Cincinnati today with Zac (one of Funnel’s brothers). We didn’t buy anything, but we just checked everything out for a future Ikea visit, maybe when we buy a house. The main thing I came away with is that I would love our living room or family room in our future home to have at least one wall that is completely made up of bookshelves. Ikea has a few different systems of mix & match bookshelving, but my favorite was the Billy system:

You can’t tell in this photo, but you can buy glass doors for some of the panels, and there’s a way you can put fabric in between the glass to add some color. I would be all over that.
I am in the mood to watch “Once“.
There’s a million things I could talk about, but I think I am going to join Funnel for some wii golf. A summary of life lately: I’ve been stressed out (almost entirely from unneccessary worrying), I can’t believe our summer is almost gone, I’m re-evaluating how I feel about important things, I am tired, and I am happy.

Which important things are you reevaluating?

I stumbled across your blog when I was on weddingbee.com awhile back. I’ve been reading ever since. So even if it is a blog about nothing at times, which is lovely to read, it still makes me come back for more!

hey- you mentioned the movie “Once”, do you like it?I’ve heard it’s good but haven’t gotten a chance to see it yet. If you own it do you think maybe I could borrow it?
p.s I think you should keep your blog the way it is. It’s nice to have a place where you can right about whatever is on your mind at the time..I enjoy reading your random posts about things. You should focus on pictures too because your photos are great

I love the Billy system. It’s my favorite from IKEA.
I’ve been meaning to watch Once for about 3 months.. or longer.. and just haven’t. Not sure why. I’m guessing it’s a good one…
i think you should do what you feel with your blog and don’t worry about everyone else. it’s for you mostly and whatever people pull away from it, is.. something. i just got distracted. sorry. my mind is… failing me.

Sarah: I responded on your blog.
Yell: I really like the movie “Once”. I like that it is a musical, without being cheezy or unnatural and the music is really pretty. I don’t have it, but I think I’m going to buy it, so you can borrow it!
Ann: Did you end up going to IKEA a couple of months back? I LOVE IT… I am really excited there is one so close. I am looking forward to hanging out with you soon!
