anthropologie finds.

So, I used my Anthropologie gift cards last night ((thanks Jon, Heather & Funnel!))  I bought a lovely, summery dress, which I just felt like i was supposed to have.   It was on sale for the exact amount I had on my cards and it was the only one left and just happened to be my exact size.  I had even tried it on a couple of months ago and liked it.  So it will make an appearance next weekend, but here is a sneak peek:

We also bought some cute letter glasses that were on sale:

Okay, so this might make me a stalker, but I’ve been looking at your left finger in many different photos on your blog, and I can’t figure out which ring is which and why you wear certain ones. When you were engaged, did you wear a piece of string tied around your finger? When you walked down the aisle at your wedding, did you have a thick band on one finger? Was your engagement ring still on your finger while walking down the aisle? What does the wedding ring itself look like? I get confused, looking at different pictures and trying to figure out which ring is on which hand and why. Is there any special story there?

Dude, you aren’t stalking me! Haha. I can see how it could be confusing.

A couple of months after we started dating, Funnel gave me a fork ring that he made as a placeholder ring until we could get engaged. I wore it on my left hand.

When he proposed, I switched the fork ring to my right hand, and wore the engagement ring on my left hand.

Flashforward to right before our wedding and I was picking out which wedding band I wanted. I wanted something really tiny and dainty that would sit flush with my engagement ring, so I ended up getting a “u” – shaped band because a regular band wouldn’t sit flush. We really wanted to get our bands engraved, but the one I picked out was too thin, BUT the jeweler said if he soldered my engagement and wedding band together, he could add some extra gold to the inside and we could get it engraved. So that’s what we did.

Here it is with both bands soldered together:

But for a couple of weeks leading up to the wedding, I switched my fork ring back to my left hand because I didn’t want to wear the wedding band/engagement ring. (superstitious).

That’s why before the ceremony in my wedding photos I am wearing my big clunky fork ring on my left hand.

For awhile before I had my engagement ring resized, I wore a piece of string around it, which might be in some of the photos, but I also was wearing a black twist-tie that Funnel gave me above my wedding/engagement rings last year  but then I lost it. :(

And what does the engraving say inside?

Did the black twistie-tie have any great significance?

  4. lovelettertypewriter Says:

Mine says “I am my beloved’s…” and Funnel’s says “…my beloved is mine”. It was the verse we had on our wedding invitations.

The twist-tie doesn’t really have any significance. He made it into a little ring for me one night when he was bored at wal-greens and I thought it was sweet and wore it all the time. Then one night I was visiting him at work and he had forgotten to wear his wedding band (he takes it off when he puts his hair product in his hair) and said he felt naked, so I gave him the twist-tie back and he wore it. I cant remember what happened to it after that, but I am sad that it is gone.

That ring story is so adorable! And I’m sure the dress is amazing, I can’t wait to see it on you!
