1-up cupcakes

One of the things Funnel & I have in common is that we both like video games.  We’ve had conversations before about how it’ll be weird when our generation gets older because we’ll probably have “family video game night” with our kids and maybe by the time we’re elderly, they might have video games geared towards us old people, the first-generation gamers.

So for his birthday, I made him 1-up cupcakes and I wanted to post some photos (since I’ve been inspired by baking/cooking blogs lately).

At first, I couldn’t figure out how I would make the white dots… (slices of marshmallow?) but I bought fondant at Jo-Annes and used a water-bottle cap to make the circles and that worked pretty well, although I don’t think fondant taste that great.

What if everyone thinks that the first picture shows you holding one of the cupcakes?? I guess we shouldn’t underestimate your talent ;-)

I don’t even know what “social justice advocacy” looks like on a day-to-day basis…. I hope to find out soon!

you know, i feel like fondant should taste a lot better for how fancy it is… or maybe that’s why it doesn’t taste that great… i dunno.

your cupcakes looked awesome. as did your mom’s cookies!!

I hope they do make video games for first generation gamers.
