in the city.

I have never been so thankful for the weekend.  Yesterday felt like the very last lap of the 3200 on a hot day, when all your muscles are burning and you don’t care about winning the race.. you just want to be done with it.  (I’m being dramatic, but I made a stupid mistake at work and had to deal with being in the “doghouse” all day.  That was new to me and I didn’t like it too much.  Honestly, I can’t understand why people can’t be a little nicer to one another?)

I woke up at 7:30 this morning and I am planning on using the entire day to work on my book.  I think I’m in the home stretch!  I’ve never cared so much about a project before.

Funnel has training all weekend for certification for a new job.  If everything goes well, he will be able to quit Walgreens mid-May, but until then, he is going to be pretty busy, essentially working two jobs.

The sun is shining, we might go frisbee golfing later today, we ate chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast today: life is good.  You wouldn’t have thought that by the way I was moping around yesterday, and it embarresses me how small my ”big” problems are in light of other people’s.

i want to take you far from the cynics in this town
and kiss you on the mouth
we’ll cut out bodies free from the tethers of this scene,
start a brand new colony
where everything will change,
we’ll give ourselves new names (identities erased)
the sun will heat the grounds
under our bare feet in this brand new colony

.

yes but even our small “big” problems are important to us. i know what you mean, i often look back in embarrassment on my “big” problems, but at the time they were. and i think overall you deserve to be happy, so if your problems seem big to you, then they are. and that’s okay. if you decide they’re actually not that big, you can rejoice for your good fortune and be thankful- that is bound to cause some happiness. ;)
