weekend.

For the longest time, I could only knit rectangles (scarves, dishclothes, etc.) but now I am almost done with my first non-rectangular creation: a baby hat!

I joined a knitting/crotcheting group at church that is working on making baby items for a crisis pregnancy center.  Pretty neat.

I’ve had a good weekend.. I got to see my dad for a long lunch over Tammy’s Pizza on Thursday, watched Anne of Green Gables Friday night with Debbie and Danielle, spent the most of my afternoon yesterday working on my neverending book project, and worked on etsy stuff and the apartment today.

I haven’t gotten to see much of Funnel lately, but his next break starts Tuesday.  (How did we make it when we were dating and only saw each other on the weekends?).  I miss him.

We have started watching BBC’s “The Office” and it’s so weird & surreal to me.  We watched the first episode yesterday and we were trying to figure out who the corresponding American characters are. (I love the Dwight character.)

I am looking forward to:
+ spring (dresses! frolf! going for walks!)
+ photographing my first wedding in April.
+ visiting the new ikea.

Congrats! I forgot to get the instructions from you at church today. Will you be there on Wed? I really can’t read the ones I wrote down, and now I am thinking that I am doing it wrong. Let me know. I could stop by and get them as well.

I LOVE the British version of the Office. It gets really good!

I am excited to go to IKEA too!

Good for you on the hats! I know how it feels to be limited by rectangular creations, then to suddenly break through!

I tried to get into the BBC version of /The Office/, but without John Krasinski, what’s the point in living?

Do you call your in-laws by their first name, or by “Mom” and “Dad”? For instance, I thought Debbie Frederick was your mother-in-law, and do you refer to her as “Debbie”? Or only when you’re writing about her?

I’m glad you joined the group and are moving along on your first hat. We’ve got lots of yarn to use up. Lorraine (who chatted with us at Panera) donated a bag full of yarn on Sunday.

The River’s baby shower for PDHC is April 19th, so we’ll take our first round of knitting/crocheting to donate then.

jamie and i were reading an article about the new ikea ((of which I’m thrilled!!)) and it said somewhere in the world, when the store first opened people were trampled. so…. we’ve decided to give it a nice long month after it opens before we go. ;)

i forgot about frolf… but really my favorite part about frolf is being outside.

Steph..I probably won’t be at church tonight.. I have a lot of stuff I’m trying to get done tonight, but maybe I can drop them by on Thursday? I’m sorry I didn’t get them to you earlier.

Sarah.. I call them by their first names! And I hear you on the John Krasinski thing. The British one isn’t as cute.

ann.. that my favorite part of frolfing too.
