voting.

So I voted today!  I woke up at 6 (a good hour before I usually get up) and went to our polling place, which is the elementary school across the street from our apartment complex.  I stood in line for 45 minutes.

While I was waiting, I was rooting around in my coat pocket to make sure I had my I.D. and I accidentaly shoved a toothpick under my nail!  It went so far in there, and it killed.  Wasn’t sticking sticks under people’s nails some kind of torture in the middle ages?

There were a couple of ladies near me in line who were complaining about this sweet old man who was sitting at the registration table.  It appeared that his job was handing out the “I voted” stickers.  He was really old and with his shakey little hands, he was having trouble unpeeling the stickers and handing them out.  Loud enough for him to hear, the one woman said, “Our tax dollars are paying that guy to hand out stickers?”  I wanted to punch her in the tooth.  As it turns out, from my careful observation, he also had another important job.  He was the “judge” and I guess he gets to preside over instances that seem shady.

Anyway, the weather here is horrible.  It is so cold and rainy, and on my way to work I saw a bunch of Obama supporters out in the freezing rain holding up signs.  All you Obamians are really dedicated!

I really hate this weather though.  At work I was cold all day and so I decided I wanted to have a picnic.  I bought some bbq chicken and potato salad and baked beans and Funnel doesn’t know this yet, but when he wakes up we are going to have one.  Maybe I’ll wear my swimsuit.

    Funny stuff.

I just saw the picture on your Facebook of you at the Frederick’s sitting next to Darth Vader impaling himself with the wrong end of the lightsaber. It gets my vote for photo of the year.

okay. i absolutely HATE it when people are mean to old people. it makes me want to cry… actually i did when i read that. that’s probably the one thing that can make me incredibly sad/angry/ready for a fight instantly every time. i want to find that man and give him a hug- or a high five.

sometimes i have to remind myself as well, that someday those women in line will be old too- and i should not feel bad when people make fun of them. ((hahahhahah, that’s terrible!)) no but seriously, old people were young and possibly mean once too… there’s just something about them though when they’re still trying to get through the day with some dignity.

okay. i’m done. i just had to share my outrage/sadness.

Picnic! I could totally go for a picnic this time of year. I’m so tired of snow.
