CM: beaches.
There are two main beaches in Cape May: Cape May Beach and Sunset Beach.
Cape May Beach is the one that most people go to for laying out, swimming, etc. (It was warm enough to go swimming our last day there, but I won’t grace you with the photos my dad took of me in my swimsuit). There is a boardwalk all the way down it with restaurants, shops, hotels and an arcade.
The other beach is Sunset Beach, which is on the point, away from everything. It is mainly good for watching the sunsets, fishing and looking for “Cape May Diamonds” which are clear stones that are deposited from the Delaware River. We were told that this beach is the only place in the world to find these little “diamonds.” Once the stones are polished and cut, they do look like real diamonds. When I looked at them in the gift shop, I couldn’t tell a difference between them and a real diamond.
