you remind me of home.
This past week has been a hard one for me. It was a bunch of small things — nothing tragic or life-changing or even a big deal to me now. It just was very overwhelming and dramatic to me at the moment. I’ll share one part of it with you — my disorganizational, scatterbrained tendencies kicking me in the butt:
I lost several important things at about the same time, which sent me into a panic…
# my favorite hoodie, bought in my favorite little town.
# my journal, full of details and quotes and memories of the last couple years.
# my debit card & drivers license.
But they all were discovered eventually…
# James found the sweatshirt on the streets of Columbus, by where we picked up JD.
# my journal was in my car.
# my debit card and license were in my laundry basket.
I also am $50 shorter because of a stupid mistake I made. All of this was a big wake-up call: I need to get my act together and get organized, something my mom has been wanting me to do for 23 years. ((I used to drive my school teachers crazy, I think.))
This week has had some great points too. I got to see a friend of ours, Peter, get married on Saturday, to Amber, which was beautiful and lovely and I know of several other 7/7/07 weddings that make me happy too.

on the way back from the wedding, taken by Funnel.
Sunday was really good for me. Anna invited me to her church, The Village Vineyard, and I’m really glad I went. The message was so perfect for what’s been on my heart this week. The pastor asked us to write down when we feel the farthest from God, what we are struggling with and scared to share with others, and what we feel the most hopeless about. Just writing these things down made me realize how much I have been struggling lately and what I need to do about it to fix it. After, we walked a long, hot walk over to Betty’s for lunch, which was the most delicious food I have had for weeks. While we were eating, we saw PeeWee Herman walk by, and I silently cursed at myself for forgetting my camera again (a too-frequent occurrence, lately). Then I met Lauren at Easton for sunglasses shopping (I bought two pairs) and Victoria’s Secret. When I am in a funk (which usually makes me pretty anti-social), getting out of the apartment is something that helps me immensely and I am always glad that I did it.
Most of all, my biggest blessing — a sweeter guy than Funnel does not exist and I am so grateful for him . He is so patient with me, even when I know I am being exasperating (a girl x 10) and need lots of hugs and I cry all over his shirt.
((This coming weekend we are going to Michigan, just like two summers ago.))

I think once I remember hearing the theme song to the American version of /The Office/, perhaps on a MySpace page of yours. I take it you like that show? I ADORE it! Have you seen every episode? They light up my life. I want to copy and paste a quote to you, but first I need to ensure that you’ve seen every episode. Otherwise it’s no fun.
(I have a friend who cried at the season finale this spring! Now I think that’s a bit much.)

It’s MY FAVORITE show. And I miss having that song on my myspace. Maybe I’ll change it back. At one time, my top 8 friends were all office characters, but then I got self-conscious that people would think that I didn’t have any real friends, just office ones.
I am pretty sure I have seen every episode. You should definitly post a quote for me!
And heres a confession: My eyes “misted” a little bit at the season finale. Misted is different than crying though!

I was actually disappointed in the finale. All that hype…and then a mere “It’s a date”? Oh well. Nothing could top the finale of season 2. My friend and I watched that ending over and over again and just swooned. We invented a verb for when you feel wistful about something–we wisted. It kind of connects to “misted,” which is what your eyes did. Oh the wonders of the English language!
So here’s my quote–
Michael: Where were you this morning?
Dwight: I overslept–damn rooster didn’t crow.
Michael: Why do you lie, liar?
Dwight: I am not a liar.
Michael: You are lying right now.
Andy: Sure seems like he’s lying…
Dwight: Stay out of this, you.
Michael: I know that you went to corporate this morning and I know that you lied about it. And given our history, I need you to tell me right now exactly what you were doing this morning.
Dwight: Michael, I cannot tell you what I was doing there. But you have to trust me–I would never do anything to hurt you or this company.
Michael: Okay, you know what? I want you to think about your future at this company. I want you to think about it long and hard–
Dwight: That’s what she said.
Michael: –Don’t you dare.
Hope you have a good day, Jen!

Sarah — thanks for the Office quote! That’s one of my favorite episodes! I can’t wait until September when it returns!
Abby – Thank you! I am so so so so so glad that it was found and I still can’t believe it… I mean, what are the chances that it would still be there after so many hours and such a busy night! Horray for James!
