fight or flight.
Two nights ago, I had a dream that I was in Japan, but in my dream, Japan seemed very European. When I woke up, I was disappointed that I was not in Japan, or European-Japan and that I wasn’t going there anytime soon. It put me in a weird mood the rest of the day. I think both the dream and how I felt afterwards really speak to how I have been feeling lately.

I think it’s generally a rule that anything small is automatically cute. I bought these beads yesterday at ComFest. I have missed ComFest every year because I’ve always been in Massillon for the summers, so this was my first time. It was pretty much what I expected — hippies, some topless women, a couple men in dresses, a lot of pot-smoking, drum circles, music. I also saw a surprising number of Pit Bulls.
As we were walking the long, long walk back to our cars, a group of people tried to pick a fight with us after Jason was peering at some flier or something on their car. Very unfortunate timing. I really thought they were going to punch Jason out. They were all very drunk and angry and the one girl was like, “We could take all three of you!!” and there were actually four of us. Had something happened, I really feel like I could have defended myself very well. My bag, which was really heavy with all the things in it would have made a good weapon, as well as my kickboxing skills.
Then, as I was driving through Columbus, a creepy woman with scary eyes was yelling something at me and got way too close to my car. I was fumbling to find my automatic lock button without making her any more angry. Luckily, James was in the car ahead of me, in case something happened, but sheesh.
Unfortunately, I have no ComFest photos to show you because I forgot my camera, but we might be going back on Sunday.

The beads are VERY cute, I love small things too. And my purse/bag usually could double as a weapon because of the weight. But I’m always prepared and have a place to stow my finds.
