indian pizza.
I thought I might start sharing some of my cooking adventures with you…
Let me start off by saying that I am not a great cook, or even a good cook. I am transitioning from college cooking (Ramen, frozen pizzas, saltines and couscous for a week straight) to being married and wanting to cook something nice for my husband now and then. I’m not gonna lie– it’s pretty challenging and I really don’t know what the heck I am doing most of the time.
This is what I think is hard about cooking:
- Timing the preparation of everything so it gets done at the same time.
- Being good at grocery shopping. My mom always has everything she needs to make pretty much whatever meal she feels like making. Me — I am always having to run to the grocery store to get the things I don’t have.
- Trimming down recipes for two people, so we don’t have tons of leftovers (I love my Healthy Cooking For Two book)
- Eating well-balanced meals — I am such a carb-loader.
So, I think I am going to start blogging about my attempts at cooking (eeek), starting with…..
Indian Pizza!
When I was at Trader Joe’s yesterday with Debbie and Amber, they were handing out samples of this recipe. I LOVE Indian food. (Indian food was actually my first date with Funnel…)
Plus, this recipe only has three ingredients! That makes it so easy and cheap. There was enough to make four pizzas, but we only made two. And it took less than 20 minutes.
Before yesterday, I didn’t know what “chevre” was. It is a soft, spreadable goat cheese with spices in it. (I guess I’m not the cheese connoisseur I thought I was.)

It smelled so good when it was baking.

Success!
When I was taking these photos before we ate, I told Funnel, “I won’t post about it if it tastes bad.” So, if I post any more about my cooking attempts, it will probably only be about my successes. Although, I think it might be funny if I post about it when I really screw it up too. Who knows.

That looks good! And I can never time my recipes either. The noodles get mushy because the chicken isn’t done. Or the chicken gets dry while the brocolli is steaming. And I always am running to the store. Good thing a little place is only a couple blocks away.

Thank you! I have been progressing a lot in the last few months. I am hoping one day I could do a thanksgiving dinner or something. I wish our grocery store was that close.
