I’m a thief.
Lately, I have been praying that God will show me an example of what a Christian really is, what a Christian life looks like. I was thinking that He would respond to me with a real, live, breathing person, but perhaps this quote I came across in Greg Nettle’s blog is His answer:
“When someone strips a man of his clothes, we call him a thief. And one who might clothe the naked and does not—should not he be given the same name? The bread in your cupboard belongs to the hungry; the coat in your wardrobe belongs to the naked; the shoes you let rot belong to the barefoot; the money in your vaults belongs to the destitute.”
- – Basil (“the Great”) of Caesarea (329–379), Christian bishop and theologion.
On another note, I have been so resistant to something that I now believe God has been trying to show me. Months and months of resistance and independence and thinking I know what is best for me came to a head yesterday.
I am thankful to be reminded how small I am.

i’m so glad things seem to be coming together…making more sense at least. it’s so neat when all of a sudden things make sense and you can see what God has been up to the months prior. that’s really sweet- in every sense of the word.
