Wedding.

I haven’t been writing much wedding-related stuff in here because I am trying not to be one of those girls who turns into Bridezilla and makes planning their wedding their life. It is really exciting though, and now that it’s getting a little closer, I can work on more of the detail-y stuff, which I think is the most fun.

We have most of the major stuff figured out — we have the ceremony and reception site, the photographer, an amazing pastor officiating, our attendants, a color scheme. We’re about to start counseling, we know how many people we’re inviting (it’s going to be small), I have my dress, my mom has made all the bouquets as well as a lot of the decorations, and my dad has planned a golf outing for the guys. We had a cake, but the place we were ordering from is shutting down!((My mom just called and the lady who teaches cake decorating classes at Jo-Anne’s might be able to do it.)) We also have a cake topper. ha.

Stuff we have to figure out real soon (before the end of June, according to my wedding workbook.. but I want to get it done sooner!!)… ceremony music, DJ, Bridesmaid dresses and tuxes, honeymoon, engagement photos, invitations, rings, favors, register for gifts.

Yesterday, I was looking at non-traditional Christian vows and I found some pretty amazing ones…
__________, with joy I make this vow to be your (wife/husband). I have chosen you as the one I want to be my life’s partner. I covenant to love you in the midst of the everydayness and the specialness of life; in times of sorrow and times of joy. I want to share the responsibility of building a Christian home together with you. I want to accept and affirm your personhood and your uniqueness. I want to join with you to seek the meaning and fulfillment of our lives under God. I love you ________, and before God, our family, and our friends, and by God’s grace, I commit myself and my life to you in marriage relationship, now and forever.

I read that one to Funnel on the phone last night and it almost made me cry!
October is going to be an amazing month.
