Marriage.

OCF was really challenging, encouraging, and convicting tonight.
It was the last in a series of messages on relationships/marriage based on the book of Song of Solomon.
Horace talked about how marriage is depicted in such a disheartening way in our world today, even by the church. But that within a relationship with the Lord, marriage can be so beautiful and successful and amazing and that it’s the deepest relationship we will ever have on Earth.
We talked about divorce and Horace asked half of the room to stand up, and then he told us that’s how many people will end up in divorce. And he challenged us to change those statistics. To be a generation that views marriage differently. To be a generation that says that divorce won’t be an option for them.
We talked about the things that destroy a marriage and the things that deepen a marriage.
He told us that marriage is not just a commitment you make on your wedding day, but a commitment you make every day, for the rest of your life.
This series, and just hearing Horace and Tina talk about their marriage has been so encouraging for me and has given me so much hope. I am so so excited for October and for all of this to begin and I still feel like I don’t deserve to be experiencing any of it.

One day, I want my children to look at my relationship with my husband and think, “That’s the kind of marriage I want someday. I hope my wife will love me as much as my mom loves my dad.”
